The Kopachuck Parent Teacher Student (KPTSA) organization is an advocacy group for students at Kopachuck middle school. A branch of the largest child advocacy group in the country, KPTSA works towards the education and safety of our children through many activities for student and staff support. The KPTSA is in only its second year but still has accomplished much including producing a program for families on Internet safety, helping the ASB with the magazine drive, and helping with the scholastic book fair, which produced thousands of dollars to purchase books for the school library.
In order to honor our teachers, staff, and administration, we put on a lovely staff luncheon. Volunteers continue to earn funds daily through sales at the student store. Last year funds were used for many different purposes including the Reader Board. Funds have been turned over to the district to erect the Board.
Additionally, we assisted with the scholastic library sale which earned enough money for the purchase of $18,000 worth of new books. KPTSA also provided support for the fifth grade Open House, funds for the health room supplies, helped fund teacher training, contributed to yearbook staff recognition and packed snacks for WASL testing day. KPTSA also offers a scholarship for a graduating Gig Harbor High School student. We supported the school "Share program", we supported staff by providing a magnificent dinner and staff appreciation week. The KPTSA Board would like to thank profusely our dedicated volunteers who helped, among other tasks, schedule pick up day, the magazine drive, the scholastic book fair, and who continue to work at the student store.
